Diagnosis from Your Doctor

Before receiving our services, you will need to be diagnosed by your doctor for additional testing and support. If you are unsure how to get started or need a recommendation for a doctor to work with, contact us and we will help you get started.

Audiology Assessment and/or Eye Exam

Before being assigned a Physical Therapist with us, it’s likely that your doctor will order an audiology assessment. This is a simple test that will evaluate how your inner ear is working. They may also order an eye exam to see how your eye is moving and reacting.

Your First Appointment

At your first appointment, a Physical Therapist will conduct a full evaluation of balance, including reviewing your gait (how you walk), arm and leg strength and general flexibility.

Weekly Visits

At your first appointment, a Physical Therapist will set reasonable goals with you for your time together. From those goals, they’ll create a care plan with how many appointments per week are needed, approximately how many weeks you’ll need this service and activities you can do at home.

Other common symptoms besides dizziness

Dizziness and balance issues may also cause muscle fatigue and headache, which could have long-term affects on ongoing strength and affect other abilities.

Call your doctor to discuss Vestibular Therapy if you experience any of the below:

  • A sudden change or fluctuation in hearing.
  • Feeling pressure or a sense of fullness in your ear that’s painful or uncomfortable.
  • New or increased ringing in your ear.
  • Fluid coming from your ears.
  • Any pain or discomfort in your neck and/or back that happens while you’re doing your exercises.
